Internet growing the fastest

AKAR logo The Russian Communication Agency Association (RACA), a leading professional marketing and advertisement industry association, evaluated the Russian advertisement market in the first nine months of 2007. The biggest growth was in internet advertisement, as always. This segment grew by 53%, while last year, the market grew only by 24%, from 122-123 billion rubles to 152-153 billion rubles. RACA analysts predict that this figure will reach 220 billion rubles by the end of the year.

Outdoor advertisement market volume didn’t grow as much as other segments, not surpassing 17 percent (from 25.4-25.6 billion to 29.6-29.8 billion rubles). The television segment grew by 29%, mainly due to an increase in prices.

According to RACA experts, the internet advertisement market volume more than doubled, increasing by 53%, from 1.7-1.8 billion to 2.6-2.7 billion rubles. This does not take into account context advertisement. Print advertisement market volume was only 18%, from 29.9-30.1 billion to 35.5-35.7 billion rubles. Newspaper advertisement volume grew by 23% and advertising publications only by 12%.

We would like to remind that in 2006 the total yearly growth of the advertisement market in Russia was 29%.The volume grew from $5030 million to $6490 million. The growth in online sector was the most impressive, just like this year: 67 percent not including context advertisement. The total volume of online advertisement market grew from 60 to 100 million dollars. Television advertising growth was 36 %, outdoor advertisement – 30 %, magazines – 22%.
